Days 1 to 3 - Mababe Private Reserve

The safari begins in Maun where your guide will meet you in the early afternoon at Maun Airport. From here, you and the rest of the small group will be driven through to the remote Mababe region - arriving to a set up private campsite after about three hours, depending on what you see on the way.

Your first night in Mababe will be a hint of things to come; arriving into camp in time for sunset, you will settle in to the beauty and sounds of this unique wilderness area. Perfectly positioned between the southern section of the Chobe National Park, and the Khwai and Moremi wildlife areas, the environment offers a mix of both habitats. The river channel winds through the savannah, attracting a diverse mix of animals that come to drink in the dry season, and enjoy the abundant grasses following the rains. Acacia woodland provides shade for all in the heat of the day, with large herds of elephants, buffalo and general game making the best use of it.

Early morning and afternoon game drives through the area will give you the best opportunity to witness the wilderness. You will also have the opportunity to venture out on a night drive, experiencing a very different type of safari, focussing on the wildlife that uses darkness to its best advantage.

The Mababe private concession belongs to the local community, and as caretakers for this pristine wilderness, there are controls in place which restricts the numbers of visitors to the area, making it a truly special experience for you.

An optional scenic helicopter safari is (at extra charge) is highly recommended; a chance to witness the beauty of the Okavango from the skies.

Days 4 to 6 - Moremi Game Reserve

After breakfast you will enjoy a scenic game drive to the Khwai mokoro station. Enjoy the stillness of the wonder that is the Okavango Delta in a mokoro (fiberglass canoe) as your poler guide glides through the magnificent channels of the inland Delta water system. Your adventure will continue as we travel through the Moremi Game Reserve, stopping for a picnic lunch enroute. A relaxed game drive will then take you to your private campsite, arriving late afternoon, where you will spend the next 3 nights.

Here land and water meet to create an exceedingly striking preserve of waterways, lagoons, pans, floodplains, riverine forest and woodlands. This incredible diversity of habitats makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching opportunities. You will enjoy game drives daily discovering natures best kept secrets.

Days 7 & 8 - Okavango Delta Expeditions Camp

Today you will explore a section of Moremi Game Reserve off the beaten track, as you boat to a secluded island. Your destination is a little haven beautifully laid out within the deep water channels of the Okavango Delta.

Perfectly situated between Moremi’s game-rich savannah and the Okavango Delta’s floodplains, this area offers unspoiled scenic beauty.

Spend two days discovering this island and surrounding channels by boat and enjoy Africa’s perfect sunset as it reflects off the water. Be spoilt in comfort as you spend 2 nights in meru style en-suite tents and immerse yourself in this remote, wild and untouched area.

Day 9 - End of safari

Early on day 9, you will leave the island by boat, to make your way to Maun. Jumping onto the safari vehicle parked and ready for you at the boat station, a game drive on your way out will be yet another chance to see the more elusive animals not yet spotted. We continue on to Maun arriving at approximately noon after about a five hour transfer total.

Your guide will drop you off at Maun Airport for your outbound flight.

If time allows we would recommend an additional night in Maun before departing Botswana.
