Maun Lodge is extremely well located for those looking for a short and affordable stay in the centre of town. This is a larger property with 110 rooms, however it remains personal and welcoming and parts of the hotel have retained the flavour of the original hotel.
Maun Lodge is popular with groups on mobile safaris, self-drivers as well as overnight guests. The riverside views and convenient location make it a favourite for local clientele too. The hotel offers a number of dining options to suit all tastes and budget.
This is the only place in town with a Boma (traditional kraal-style area) restaurant, meal choices available include the renowned Boma Buffet – which serves traditional, local dishes (try Oxtail and Pap or the delicious Seswaa and Morogo (Spinach) or the riverside café with more cosmopolitan-inspired dishes or more formal dining in the restaurant where an a la carte menu is available.
Onsite facilities include a swimming pool and in-house gym. The concierge are able to assist with a number of activities too.

We generally recommend the luxury riverfront rooms, each of the 10 rooms have scenic views of the Thamalakane River and comfortable double beds.
There are 88 standard hotel rooms, comfortably furnished standard rooms with televisions, available in twin or double configuration. There are two Presidential Suites with Kingsized beds. All have private verandahs, televisions and fully serviced bar on request. The Executive Hotel Rooms are spacious rooms cater to those looking for a larger accommodation space. Kingsized beds and televisions feature. Two rooms have been adapted for wheelchair access.
Executive Suites – For the discerning traveller requiring living space during their stay – perhaps to entertain – these two suites feature Kingsized beds, private lounge and bar area.
Budget Chalets – These thatched chalets are very popular with the intrepid safari traveller, providing fantastic value for money with some modern conveniences. Some cater to families with ¾ beds and a sleeper couch for kiddies, others are twin-bedded. All have aircon and tea and coffee making facilities.
Maun Lodge team are able to book any Maun-based activity for you, though many of these are best booked in advance. Activities include scenic Okavango flights by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft, boat cruises to the Buffalo Fence, Mokoro Day trips, Moremi Game Reserve Day trips, Multi-day trips by mokoro, boat or mobile safari. Horse Riding can also be arranged.
