On arrival in Maun Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel, a comfortable and convenient hotel, suitable for your 7.30am pick up the next day.

This morning you will be met at your hotel by your guide and the rest of the group and set off on your safari. Driving east, alongside the Moremi to the Khwai community concession, one of the best wilderness regions of Botswana separated from the Moremi Game Reserve by the Khwai River. The distance covered by road from Maun to Moremi / Khwai is approximately 150kmin length, 6hours in driving time (including game drive along the way).
Arriving at camp you will settle into your private tent, with en-suite open air bathroom.
The first two days of your safari encompasses both game drives and mokoro excursions along the Khwai River which, flowing straight through the concession, is a prime water source for animals such as Kudu, Tsessebe and Wildebeest as well as the more rarely seen Roan and Sable antelope which favour this type of riparian forest and floodplain habitat. Regularly seen predators include the likes of lions, Spotted Hyena and African Wild Dogs

An early dawn wake -up call on the second day is followed by freshly brewed tea or coffee and a game drive into the surrounding areas in search of wildlife. Birders will be enthralled by the more than 400 species of bird occurring within the Moremi Game Reserve inclusive of several sought- after raptors.

Later that afternoon a tranquil mokoro excursion in a traditional Mokoro (dugout canoe) will take you along a tributary of the Khwai River to view game from another perspective where one can get up close and personal to smaller animals such as the Painted Reed Frog and hovering Kingfishers.
A final evening on the Khwai Concession is spent under the stars enjoying a hearty meal and sharing memorable experiences of the past two days before a sound nights’ sleep in your cosy tent.

Today you continue your safari in a North Easterly direction for approximately 6 hours towards the Chobe National Park, enjoying the changing topography as you travel through the dry Savuti Plains. Recognised for its healthy populations of Lions, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Leopard, the Savuti and its channel are an interesting feat of nature. Having dried up for the best part of 30 years, the now running Savuti Channel is attracting species such as elephant and large herds of buffalo as well as an astounding variety of birds of prey.

Settle into your new home, your private camp site set up by the team earlier in the day. As evening draws in you become attuned to the whooping cry of the Spotted Hyena as it scavenges the surrounding area for its next meal.
The next morning is another early start with a game drive, and your senses come alive with the fresh, natural scent of grass and dust as the African sun rises once again on this remote corner of Botswana. Game drives traverse over the area once famed for lions that adapted to the harsh conditions by hunting on elephant due to the lack of water and scarcity of prey species.

Spend a second evening in this truly fascinating area.

Today you depart the Savute area and head towards the Chobe Riverbank and adjacent floodplains which display a completely different ecosystem, home to large herds of grazing zebra, elephant, buffalo and the unmistakable call of the African Fish Eagle. Look forward to glimpses of species such as the rare puku and Chobe bushbuck.

Settle into your final camp later that afternoon. The distance you will travel from Savuti to Chobe River is about 170km – a drive of approximately 5 hours in length.

Day 6 dawns as you prepare to further explore the Northern Chobe and its floodplain. For keen photographers, a sunset on the Chobe river is the perfect opportunity to capture that iconic Botswana sunset just as the silhouettes of the surrounding bush begin to darken.
A fine ending to your safari.

Your last day of your Botswana Safari begins with a scenic cruise on the Chobe River. This is your final opportunity to spot smaller animals and aquatic species that are not normally seen from a safari vehicle.

Finally, you depart for Kasane Airport, the end of your safari. The transfer from Chobe to Kasane is approximately 1.5 hours by road.
