The game viewing opportunities at Chief’s Camp are fantastic– whether sightings being those of the thousands of antelope, zebra and buffalo who live here all year round or of the several local lion prides and leopards, genet cats and hyena all making this their hunting ground. There are also healthy populations of the endangered wild dog with this conservations area being one of their last strongholds.
Chief’s Camp is well- equipped, with an extended dining room, the addition of a pizza deck with pizza oven and a new orientation room where guests can learn more about the Delta before going on game drives. Gym facilities and a gym and kids’ playroom are also available. The main area inclusive of the dining facilities, bar, curio shop, library and reception are built into the existing landscape, under a canopy of mature Jackalberry, Sausage and Rain trees. The deck area is split-level and offers expansive views over the scenic floodplains, with the lower level of the deck housing the swimming pool.
