Peake safaris operate on the belief that ‘adventure doesn’t mean discomfort’ and the camp is certainly very comfortable. It combines the traditional tented safari style with modern day luxuries without ever losing that special adventurous atmosphere. And a mobile safari is ultimately a great adventure, which Gareth Peake who owns and operates Peake Safaris, delivers so well. Your days are entirely your own, fully flexible – you are able to set the rhythm to your safari. Stay out all day with a picnic lunch if you wish, linger as long as you like over special interest sightings or enjoy shorter drives and relax in camp as you wish – this is your safari, you ahve no set schedules to follow unlike a permanent camp. Game drives are at the heart of a mobile safari, but other activities can be worked in such as boating safaris, mokoro excursions, walking safaris, canoeing, horse riding and helicopter flights.

The guest tents have been custom designed – spacious, light and comfortable they are fully furnished with proper beds, luxurious linen, ensuite bathrooms with flushing loos and hot water in your bucket showers. There is thoughtful lighting and plenty of space to unpack and settle in to your home in the Botswana bush. Designed to be cool in the summer and cosy in the winter – plenty of thought has gone in to this camp.

The main area invites you to relax with sofas, deck chairs, games, a library and well stocked bar along side the dining table. Meals and drinks are a very hight standard – you will be amazed by what the camp kitchen can produce in the bush! The day always end around the camp fire listening to the sounds of the wilderness, under a canopy of stars.

A mobile camp is lightweight and designed to move (it’s all in the name!) but this will not always be the case. Depending on the length of your safari you may settle in to one spot for the duration of your stay. For longer safaris the camp will move to a new destination. On those moving days you will head out with your guide after breakfast with a picnic lunch for a full day of exploring, while the rest of the team stay behind to breakdown the camp. Later that day you will arrive to your new camp site amazed to see your tents reassembled and the home fire roaring and the team ready to welcome you your new home with a cool drink.

Peake Safaris run trips on a minimum of two people and can accommodate up to 12. The private and flexible nature of the camp makes it perfect for families and groups.
