This six-night “Fly Me Around Botswana” itinerary combines two of &Beyond’s most celebrated Okavango Delta lodges, offering exceptional value while delivering a truly luxurious safari experience. Spending three nights at Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp followed by three nights at Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge allows guests to experience two contrasting regions of the Delta, each offering its own unique landscapes, wildlife encounters and safari activities. Game viewing is excellent year-round, while water-based activities are seasonal and dependent on annual flood levels. Both camps are renowned for their outstanding guiding, warm hospitality, superb cuisine and beautifully designed accommodations.

Set within private wildlife concessions, Nxabega and Sandibe provide an exclusive safari experience away from the busier areas of the Delta. Nestled beneath majestic ebony trees in the wildlife-rich Pom Pom Concession, Nxabega offers a classic Okavango safari with a wonderful mix of land and water activities. Sandibe, one of Botswana’s most iconic luxury lodges, lies to the east on a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve and is celebrated for its striking pangolin-inspired architecture, exceptional guiding and prolific wildlife viewing. Together, these two camps showcase different sides of the Okavango Delta, combining exceptional wildlife viewing, varied activities and some of Botswana’s finest safari hospitality.

Days 1-3: Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp

Upon arrival in Maun, you will be met and assisted with your scheduled light aircraft transfer into the heart of the Okavango Delta. A scenic flight brings you to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, where your guide will be waiting to transfer you to camp. As you make your way through the concession, your guide will introduce you to the environment, current wildlife movements and the experiences available over the coming days.

Set on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, the Pom Pom Concession offers a wonderful combination of seasonally flooded grasslands, mature mopane woodland, palm islands and riverine forest. This varied habitat supports an impressive diversity of wildlife throughout the year, from large elephant herds and buffalo to giraffe, zebra, lechwe and an excellent variety of predators and birdlife.

Activities at Nxabega revolve around exploring this beautiful wilderness, with morning and afternoon game drives offering exceptional wildlife viewing year-round. Water-based activities, including motorboat excursions and mokoro trips, are seasonal and typically offered when annual flood levels are at their highest, usually between June and August, although this varies from year to year. Scenic helicopter flights can also be arranged at an additional cost.

Following your afternoon activity, pause for sundowner drinks as the day draws to a close and the first nocturnal creatures begin to emerge. Returning to camp after dark offers the chance to spot species such as genets, bushbabies, civets and perhaps even elusive predators beginning their nightly patrols.

Evenings are spent beneath towering ebony trees, gathering around the open-air boma for dinner under the stars while discussing the following day's adventures with your guide.

The rhythm of safari life soon takes hold. Early mornings begin with light refreshments before heading out into the Delta as the bush comes alive with the first light of day. Depending on conditions, activities may include game drives or tranquil explorations of the waterways, where birds, frogs and smaller Delta creatures can be observed at close quarters. Returning to camp for a leisurely brunch, the warmest part of the day is spent relaxing before another afternoon safari experience.

With three nights to explore, there is ample opportunity to venture deeper into the concession and discover the many different habitats and wildlife spectacles that make this corner of the Okavango Delta so special.

Days 4-6: Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Today you may have one final activity at Nxabega before setting off for your flight to Sandibe Okavango Delta Lodge for three nights. Flying south east for about 25 minutes to Sandibe where you guide will meet you and transfer you to camp, a game drive of about 45 minutes.

On arrival at this unique lodge, welcoming staff will guide you to your room and once settled you are invited to enjoy a delicious lunch on the inspired organic wooden decks which lead downwards to reach the floor of the forest. Sandibe boasts an interactive kitchen where guests can prepare and create their own delicious meals with fresh ingredients as they learn about local cuisine and flavours. A delicious mouth-watering High Tea is served just before the afternoon activity.

The remainder of your day is spent navigating this wildlife-rich, private concession, enjoying iconic wildlife encounters on customised game drive vehicles.

Dinner is served on arrival back at Sandibe Camp in the central dining area, where the wooden deck stretches beyond the roof, while the upstairs bar and lounge extend along an elevated walkway to a viewing platform overlooking the Delta.

Tomorrow’s activities are discussed with your guide as you head off for a night of well- deserved rest.

The next day morning coffee is followed closely by a light breakfast and departure for your morning game in the company of your experienced safari guide. Track the spoor of the Delta wildlife, breathe in the scent of nature, and feel all your senses come alive as you take it all in by 4x4 or on foot. Smaller game species and delicate eco systems are discovered as you walk through this wilderness area.

On your return to the lodge brunch awaits and some precious time to enjoy your beautiful room and the rest of the lodge. Enjoy your own refreshing private plunge pool or alternatively enjoy a rejuvenating body treatment within the private massage sala close by. Afternoon tea served just before your afternoon drive features a selection of delicious treats.

A late afternoon game drive takes in the splendour of the Delta as sundowner drinks are served. In the early evening, return to Sandibe for dinner. Your third day follows a similar rhythm, allowing more time to explore this exceptional concession and enjoy all that Sandibe has to offer before your final night in the Okavango.

Day 8 - End of safari

The time for your flight to Maun will be finalised the day before and your guide will advise you what time you will be leaving camp. The flight will always be scheduled to connect with any onward travel arrangements. Depending on the time of departure, as discussed with your guide, you will enjoy one final morning activity and brunch before bidding farewell to the Okavango. The flight to Maun will take approximately 25 minutes, depending on any stops along the way. On arrival a representative will meet you to ensure you connect to your onward travel arrangements.
