A small luxurious camp on game-rich Hunda island with only three tents: experiencing the Delta doesn’t get more intimate than Little Tubu. Set deep within the large 600kms private concession, Little Tubu offers varied landscapes and activities. Winding, wooden platforms create a treehouse atmosphere while the sleep-out deck offers the chance of an adventurous night beneath the stars.
Little Tubu is an intimate tented camp with just three tents. All tents have en suite bathrooms with private decks and outdoor showers overlooking the floodplains. Little Tubu benefits from its location on Hunda Island with excellent concentrations of plains game in winter. Leopards are also found in good numbers.
The island is the biggest expanse of dry land in the Jao area and includes a mix of diverse habitats ensuring a varied and spectacular game viewing experience. Connected to Tubu Tree Camp by a boardwalk, Little Tubu provides a deeply personalised safari experience to guests. The camp has an elevated main building shaded by the tree canopy which is comprised of the dining area, bar and swimming pool deck; the elevation provides an amazing vantage point over the seasonal riverbed.
Little Tubu has use of the two hides in the Jao Concession. One of these hides is located about twenty minutes from Little Tubu can be transformed into a “star bed” for sleep-outs for up to four people at a time.
Activities are the same as at Tubu Tree Camp with Hundu Island providing excellent access to the diverse habitats of the Okavango Delta. Game drives are conducted both by day and night and motorboats and mekoro explore the Delta’s waterways during the winter months. Fishing excursions are offered during the fishing season between May and September.
Little Tubu conducts game drives with 4 x 4 Land Rovers. Each Land Rover seats a maximum of seven guests allowing each guest a seat with an uninterrupted view out of the vehicle. In addition to morning and afternoon game drives, night drives are offered allowing guests to see nocturnal animals such as aardwolf, porcupine, serval and large spotted genet.
The Tubu area of the concession provides bird enthusiasts with large concentrations of wattled crane, slaty egret, rosy-throated longclaw and African skimmer. Hunda Island provides a contrasting environment with frequent sightings of crimson-breasted shrike and Meyer’s parrot.

Chitabe is a classic tented camp offering a traditional safari with a strong reputation for excellent guiding.
