Nxabega Under Canvas - Full Report

Nxabega Under Canvas will open in March 2026 and be one newest camps in the &Beyond group. This new camp promises to be a great success. Inspired by the elegance of the classic 1920s mobile safari, rather than the high-end luxury that many of their other camps are known for, this camp combines simplicity with style, offering all the modern comforts in a timeless setting. Each spacious canvas tent features solar-powered lighting, convenient plug points, a standing fan, and an ensuite bathroom complete with double showers, twin vanities, hot running water and flushing toilets. While mosquito nets are not placed over the beds, the entire tent is fully netted and insect-proof for peace of mind. Despite simple layout of the camp, they aim to go above and beyond by providing every tent a complimentary pair of high-quality binoculars for use throughout your stay. There will also be wifi connectivity for added convenience.

At Nxabega Under Canvas safari activities are primarily land based with day and night game drives and walking safaris, but when water levels permit take to the waterways to enjoy boating safaris, mokoro excursions and fishing (only available from March to December due to the breeding season in January and February).

Located within the vast 25,000-hectare (61,775-acre) private Pom Pom Concession (NG 27A) on the western edge of the Okavango Delta´s Moremi Game Reserve. On land, explore mature mopane woodlands, seasonally flooded plains, and palm-dotted islands shaded by towering jackalberry, wild fig and sausage trees. Wildlife is abundant, with impala, lechwe (the semi-aquatic antelope), zebra, jackals, and giraffes are commonly seen alongside large elephant herds during the dry season. Even roan and sable frequent this area. Riverine forests provide sanctuary for prolific birdlife, including the elusive Pel’s fishing owl, and fruit bats drawn to the fig trees add to the area’s rich biodiversity. 4×4 safari vehicles carry a maximum of 6 guests ensuring everyone has a window seat, with 12V charging units and USB ports on border, you´ll never be without battery for that perfect shot!

When water levels allow, guests can also venture into the Delta’s sparkling waterways by mokoro or motorboat to discover its hidden wonders up close—colorful bird species, frogs and the intricate details of this unique ecosystem.
