Andrew Harkness set up his company with the aim of providing exclusively guided mobiles built on the foundation of his wealth of experience. With a passion for Botswana’s most secluded wildlife areas, Harkness Safaris provides top quality mobile experience with guides possessing an intimate knowledge of ecology.

On these safaris, guests have the ability to tailor their own itineraries to suit their individual pace and interests. You enjoy the same luxuries and comforts as staying in a lodge but are instead on the move with the benefit of a private guide and vehicle throughout your safari.

In terms of accommodation and camp set up there is a choice of either Meru or Dome tents depending on level of safari chosen.

The Meru tents are semi luxurious spacious and en-suite, fully furnished and 3.5m x 4.5m in terms of size. Guests are ensured a comfortable nights rest with mattresses dressed with crisp white linen and comfortable pillows all set upon stretcher beds. Showers are provided in the traditional safari style by porters who have warmed the water on the fire and fill guests’ ‘bucket’ shower.

The domed tents are 3m x 3m, en-suite and have all the basic necessities guests require. Guests are ensured a good nights rest sleeping on stretcher beds with
comfortable mattresses and crisp white linen and bucket showers.

Being flexible to your requirements and interests means that a safari can incorporate activities such as game drives, mokoro, boating and cultural elements all whilst moving between some of Botswana’s most revered wildlife destinations.
