Desert & Delta Safaris are actively involved in community development throughout northern Botswana, with a particular emphasis on staff development both professional and personal. Desert & Delta Safaris is a Maun based lodge operator providing safari accommodation and services throughout northern Botswana. Established by Jessie Neil in 1982, the company now owned by Chobe Holdings Limited, a public listed company traded on the Botswana Stock Exchange. Chobe Holdings has over 1500 shareholders and this provides a mechanism for citizen ownership of the tourism industry, the country’s second largest GDP contributor.
Opening on 16 March 2026, Sediba Sa Rona (“Our Source of Water”) marks an exciting new chapter in the Khwai region of the Okavango Delta, brought to life by Desert & Delta Safaris, one of Botswana’s most experienced safari operators.
Camp Okavango lies on the remote Nxaragha Island at the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, offering a year-round water wilderness experience. Nxamaseri Island Lodge has a beautiful setting on the panhandle of the Okavango Delta, specialising in water and cultural activities. It is the closest and best lodge for visiting Tsodilo Hills, home to over 4,500 ancient rock paintings. This charming lodge encourages a slower safari pace with a range of water activities including boating, mokoro and excellent birding saafris as well as superb fly and sport fishing. Leroo La Tau (meaning “Lion’s Paw”) is a luxury lodge set on the cliffs overlooking the Boteti River, on the western boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The lodge offers wonderful views across the park and good game viewing can be enjoyed from the comfort of the lodge itself as animals come and go from the river. Leroo La Tau offers an interesting, contrasting, safari experience in combination with the Okavango.
Chobe Savannah Lodge is a peaceful water focussed lodge set on beautiful floodplains on the banks of the Chobe River, away from the busier river sections near Kasane.
